Pleasant View Elementary School, 14900 Nubia St. in Baldwin Park, was recently awarded a $5,000 grant to improve student achievement through the use of computer and video production technology.
The grant, awarded by the Barona Band of Mission Indians, will allow the school to purchase four iPad Pro tablets, two tripods and two green screens, according to the Baldwin Park Unified School District. The school also plans to create an after-school broadcast journalism club as part of the grant.
Assemblywoman Blanca Rubio, D-Baldwin Park, who nominated Pleasant View for the grant in May, will present the award to Principal Linda Heredia during a special assembly Oct. 25.
The Baldwin Park school was one of 54 schools chosen for this year’s grant.
